Hill Stations Of Andhra Pradesh

Horsley Hills - Chittoor district.

● Koundinya Wildlife Sanctuary, Tirupati.

● W.D. Horsley , a British collector, built his home around 1870 after whom it is named.

Araku Valley

● Araku Valley is a hill station in Visakhapatnam district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.

● Araku Valley Arabica coffee – GI Tag

● Borra Caves – Limestone caves, in the Ananthagiri hills (Telangana).

● Mining - Bauxite rich

● Sangda Waterfalls

● Katiki Waterfalls

Lambasingi

● It is in Visakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh.

● It is referred as the “ Kashmir of Andhra Pradesh ”.

Tirumala Hill Station (Seshachalam Hills)

● Tirumala is located in Chittoor district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.

● It is a hill town where Tirumala Venkateswara Temple is located, which is the abode of Lord Venkateswara.

● Venkateshwara temple, Akasa Ganga waterfall, Silathoranam - a Natural arch.

Nallamala Hills

● The Nallamalas are a section of the Eastern Ghats which forms the eastern boundary of Rayalaseema region of the

state of Andhra Pradesh and Mahabubnagar, Nalgonda districts of the state of Telangana.

● They run in a nearly north-south alignment, parallel to the Coromandel Coast for close to 430 km between the rivers,

Krishna and Pennar.

● Highest point - Bhairani Konda. (Arma Konda is the highest point of Andhra Pradesh)

● Must see places in Nallamala Hills – Cumbum Lake, Srisailam Temple, Nagarjunasagar Srisailam Tiger reserve.

** Palkonda Hills in Andhra Pradesh are also very famous.

Ananthagiri Hills, Telangana 

● Ananthagiri Hills is located in Vikarabad district , Telangana. 

● The water flows from these hills to Hussain Sagar and Himayat Sagar. 

● Ananthagiri Temple is located in this forested area. 

● It is the Birthplace of Musi river (tributary of Krishna river), also called as Muchkunda River, which flows through 

Hyderabad , 5 km from Vikarabad.

Pasighat

● Pasighat is the headquarters of East Siang district in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh.

● Daying Ering Wildlife Sanctuary.

Tawang

● Shares border with Bhutan and Tibet.

● The Tawang Monastery was founded with the wishes of the 5 th Dalai Lama and It was the birthplace of the sixth Dalai

Lama.

● The Sela Pass is a high-altitude mountain pass located on the border between the Tawang and West Kameng Districts of Arunachal Pradesh state in India.

Ziro

● Ziro is a town in Lower Subansiri district in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh.

● Ziro is home to the Apatani tribe .

● Talley Valley Wildlife Sanctuary, Meghna Cave Temple.

Khonsa

● Khonsa is the headquarters of Tirap district in Arunachal Pradesh.

● Khonsa is a beautiful little hill-station with natural beauty all around it.

● Bordering Myanmar in the east and Assam in the south, Khonsa is also an important military area in the North-East.

● Namdapha National Park.

Roing

● Roing is the district headquarter of Lower Dibang Valley district in Arunachal Pradesh.

● Both Adi and Mishmi (Idu) are the principal indigenous dwellers of Roing.

● Mehao wildlife sanctuary, parts of Dibang Wildlife Sanctuary, Sally lake, Mehao lake, Bhismaknagar Fort and Mayodia pass.

Itanagar 

● Itanagar is the capital and largest city of Arunachal Pradesh. 

● Itanagar is inhabited by a number of tribes viz., Nyishi , Adi, Apatani, Tagin, Galo. Nyishis are the aborigines of the city. 

● Ganga Lake, Gompa Buddhist Temple, Rupa hill station. 

 Bomdila 

● Bomdila is the headquarters of West Kameng district in Arunachal Pradesh. 

● The Bomdila pass offers views of Kangto and Gorichen Peaks , the highest in the state. 

● Eaglenest Wildlife Sanctuary. 

 Daporijo 

● It is a census town in the Upper Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh. 

● Hangpan Dada bridge.
