TAMIL NADU 

Ooty - Udagamandalam 

● The majestic “ Queen of the Hills ” forms part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve (India’s first Biosphere Reserve).

● It is a popular hill station located in the Nilgiri Hills.

● Nilgiri Mountain Railway - UNESCO World Heritage Site.

● State animal of Tamil Nadu ‘Nilgiri Tahr’ is found here.

** UNESCO World Heritage Site - Mountain Railways of India (Darjeeling - Siliguri Railway, Kalka - Shimla Railway and Nilgiri Mountain Railway). 

Yercaud - Located in the Shevaroy Hills of Tamil Nadu. 

Kodaikanal (Dindigul district) - Situated in the upper Palani Hills Referred to as the ‘Princess of Hill Stations’. 

Palni Hills (Dindigul) - Palani Hills joined with Anamalai Hills and Cardamom Hills at Anamudi peak in Kerala state. 

Coonoor - Situated at a short distance of 17 km from Ooty in Nilgiri hills, it has many tea estates. 

Topslip - located in the Anamalai Mountain range, Anamalai hills are separated from Nilgiri Hills by Palghat Gap. 

Kotagiri - A popular hill station in the Nilgiris. The Velliangiri Mountains - 

● A part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve, are situated at the Western Ghats border of Coimbatore district, Tamil Nadu bordering Palakkad District, Kerala.

● Also known as the "Saptagiri, 7 Hills - Seven Mountains", these mountains are held and revered on par with the spiritually most powerful place on the planet - Mount Kailash, the legendary abode of Lord Shiva.

● On the top of the Velliangiri Mountains, Shiva is worshipped as Swayambhu, one who is self-created and in this form,he graces the devotees.

Anamalai Hills (Elephant Mountains) - 

● Bounded by the rivers Aliar and Uppar, Anamali is another hill station in the Western Ghats. 

● Anamudi Peak (2,695 metres) lies here is the highest peak in southern India. 

● Eravikulam National Park, Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary, Parambikulam Wildlife Sanctuary, and Anamalai Tiger 

Reserve located among these hills are well known for elephants. 

The Javadi Hills (Ooty of Tirupattur) are an extension of the Eastern Ghats spread across parts of Vellore and 

Tiruvannamalai districts in Tamil Nadu in southeastern India. This range separates Vellore and Tiruvannamalai districts. 

Masinagudi - Forms a part of the Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary. 

Manjolai - It is set deep in the Western Ghats within the Kalakkad Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve. 

 Meghamalai - 

● It is commonly known as the High Wavy Mountains, is a mountain range located in the Western Ghats in the Theni district. 

● It is dotted with cardamom plantations and tea estates. Megamalai Wildlife Sanctuary is like an extension of Periyar 

Tiger Reserve and Grizzled Squirrel Wildlife Sanctuary. 

RAJASTHAN

Mount Abu - Aravali hills, Nakki Lake, Dilwara Temple. 

Sajjan Garh - 

● It is also known as the 'Monsoon Palace', is a wonderful palatial building in Udaipur. 

● The palace is located on the Bansdara Peak of the Aravalli Range. 

● Maharana Sajjan Singh of the Mewar Dynasty built the palace in 1884 to watch the monsoon clouds. Very near to Pichola Lake. 

Guru Shikhar - It is the highest point of the Aravalli Range. It rises to an elevation of 1,722 metres, 15 km from Mount Abu. It is named Guru-Shikhar after Dattatreya, an incarnation of Vishnu. 

Ranakpur – Nestles into Aravali Ranges in Pali district, this hill station is an important destination for Jain pilgrims. It is named after Rana Kumbha.

SIKKIM

Ravangla – Situated at altitude of 7000 Feet, South Sikkim district, famous for Buddha Park.

Namchi – HQ of South Sikkim, 45 kms from Darjeeling.

Lachen - Lachen means big pass.

Lachung - It is located at the confluence of River Lachen and River Lachung, the tributaries of Teesta River. The word Lachung means 'small pass'. The Indian Army has a forward base in the town.

ODISHA 

Daringbadi - Kashmir Of Odisha.

Dumuriput - A serene Village 7 kms from Sunabeda in Koraput.

Mahendragiri - This is the second highest mountain peak of Odisha after Deomali in Koraput district.

Taptapani – Famous for Hot sulphur water Springs.

Olasuni Hill - It is situated on the border of Cuttack & Jajpur district of the state Odisha. "Olasuni Cave" is located here.

Deuli Hills - Rock-Cut Hills from ruins of Buddhist stupas of Ashoka period.

Dhenkanal - Ancient Town, There are remnants of the ancient fort Ganesh Khola which can also be explored.

Chandragiri - For Tibetan Culture, Buddhist monasteries,

Mini-Tibet of Odisha.

Tensa Hill - For Green Meadows.

Deomali Mountains

Devagiri Hills - Religious Hill Station.

Niyamgiri Hills - The sacred mountain of Dongria (tribe of Odisha).

Gandhamardan Hills

Malayagiri Hills – Famous for Waterfalls.

Kapilash Mountain Range.
